Allianz-Tiriac launches Life Help, a life insurance for protection in case of serious illnesses, dedicated to individuals aged between 18 and 70 and their families.

Life insurance is offered in the form of OPTIM and EXTRA predefined packages. The insurance product has a fixed contract period of 5 years and 6 options of insured amounts that the clients may select depending on the desired degree of protection and the available budget. The insured amounts are between EUR 10,000 and 100,000, and the fixed insurance premiums, for the entire contract period, start from EUR 100 per year / insured. Dependant children up to the age of 21 benefit from free protection.

Life Help provides extensive coverage for 3 serious illnesses with the highest incidence in Romania, respectively: cancer, myocardial infarction and cerebrovascular accident.

Through the OPTIM package, Life Help covers the risk of being diagnosed with cancer (20% of the sum insured in case of pre-invasive cancer diagnosis - carcinoma in situ - and 100% of the sum insured in case of invasive cancer diagnosis) and the risk of death by any cause with 10% of the sum insured for serious illnesses. In addition, the EXTRA package also covers the risk of being diagnosed with myocardial infarction or cerebrovascular accident for 50% of the sum insured in case of survival following diagnosis.

Both packages contain two extremely useful services, Second Medical Opinion and Navigator.

The Second Medical Opinion service can be accessed for any medical condition that is directly or indirectly related to the risks covered under Life Help insurance. With this service, our clients have access to a team of world-class physicians from renowned clinics, with expertise in serious illnesses, who verify the diagnosis and treatment plan, providing also recommendations on other available treatment options.

The Navigator service provides advice on the selection of the treatment option, an estimated cost for the recommended treatment plan, facilitation of acceptance to the medical clinic that conducts the treatment, evaluation of the prescribed drug treatment, assistance in organizing transportation and accommodation during treatment.

Romania is, unfortunately, one of the countries where the incidence of serious illnesses is extremely high. Public studies* show that 23% of the total population is extremely exposed: 1 in 4 women and 1 in 3 men are at risk of developing cancer by the age of 75. In 2018 alone, there were over 83,000 new cases of cancer and over 50,000 deaths caused by this illness; every 30 minutes, a Romanian suffers a heart attack and 1 in 10 patients does not survive; cerebrovascular accident is the third leading cause of death after cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The data presented are just some information to justify the need that insurance covers specifically these serious illnesses which are very expensive for a family with average income.

Melania Stancioiu: "Life Help insurance is not only a complementary financial support for a family facing a delicate situation, but it is a real help for the patient and his / her family by facilitating access to specialist doctors and by facilitating access to specific care services, so necessary in such situations. Through financial comfort and access to such services, our clients' confidence in the future is stronger, and the chance for life and recovery is higher, no matter what the statistics look like. Our desire is to change these statistics and to stand by people, because this is the fundamental role of an insurance company, to help people. "
